The arithmetic, shown rather than hidden
Minutes processed is simply your recording length times the share you select. Tokens are one per source minute, rounded up. Clip count assumes about two thirds of the selected time becomes finished clips — the remaining third is the run-up into a moment and the tail after it, which you cut away. That is a ceiling rather than a forecast: it assumes almost everything you selected is usable, and in practice you will reject some of what comes back. The assumption is stated here rather than buried so you can adjust it in your head.
The share worth clipping is the number that matters
Most people set it far too high the first time. A ninety-minute lecture with a Q&A, an introduction and some repetition might hold eight to twelve genuinely strong minutes. A tight thirty-minute talk might hold ten. Being honest about this is what makes the difference between processing everything and paying for it, and processing the part you would actually publish.
Why you should not process the whole file
Selecting a range is not only about cost — it is about review time. Every extra minute processed produces candidates you then have to watch and reject. Questions
How many clips can I get from a one-hour video?
It depends almost entirely on how much of the hour is worth using. At a realistic 20% and forty-second clips, an hour works out at roughly a dozen before you reject any. Expect to publish fewer — the calculator gives you the ceiling, and the review queue is where the number comes down.
What is a token?
One token is one minute of source video processed. You are charged for the minutes you select, not the length of the file, so choosing three minutes from a ninety-minute lecture costs three. The free plan includes 40 tokens.
Does making more clips from the same video cost more?
No. The charge is for processing the source minutes. Once a stretch has been processed you can cut more clips from it, re-render them or change their template without spending tokens again.
